EHEMALIGES POSTAMT
Ehemaliges Postamt; über dem Eingangs-
portal in rotem Sandstein das Relief eines
Posthorns. 1892/93 nach einem Entwurf des
Architekten E. W. J. Zimmermann im Stil der
holländischen Renaissance von der Reichs-
post errichtet. 1904 rechts um einen Gebäu-
deteil ergänzt und erweitert.
Vom 2. Oktober 1893 bis 12. Dezember 1998
bediente dieses Postamt den Brief- und
Paketverkehr, anfangs auch die Telegrafie-
und Telefonverbindungen Köpenicks.
Das Gebäude und das ehemalige Paketamt
im Hof stehen unter Denkmalschutz.

FORMER POST OFFICE
A relief pattern in the sandstone above the
entrance depicts a post horn. Built for the
Post Office from 1892 to 1893 to a design by
architect E. W. J. Zimmermann in the Dutch
Renaissance style. In 1904, a portion of the
right-hand side of the building was extended
and updated.
From 2nd October 1893 until 12th Decem-
ber 1998, this post office was used by the
letter and parcel post services, and, in the
early days, the building also provided a base
for the telephone and telegraph service
in Köpenick.
Both the building and the former parcel
office in its courtyard are listed buildings.
