ALT-KÖPENICK 15
Andersonsches Palais, um 1750/60 entstande-
nes Wohnhaus mit friderizianischer Rokoko-
fassade. Als Bauherrin trat die in Schloss
Köpenick residierende Prinzessin Henriette
Marie auf, ließ aber dann ihren Hofprediger
Benjamin de St. Aubin dort einziehen.
Der Ökonom David August Anderson kaufte
1798 das Haus, das sich seither im Familien-
besitz befindet. Die Andersons vermieteten
Räume ihres Palais von 1867 bis 1882
an die Post.
Trotz vielfältiger Nutzung sowie Umbauten
hat das gut sanierte Haus seine charakteris-
tischen Besonderheiten bewahrt. Die spät-
barocke Holztreppe im Inneren und alle
Rokokotüren blieben erhalten.

The Anderson Palace, a residential building
dating from 1750 to 1760, is adorned by
a Rococo facade, dating from the period of
Frederick the Great. The Princess Henriette
Marie, who lived in the castle in Köpenick,
had it built and afterwards, in 1762, given to
her court chaplain, Benjamin de St. Aubin as
his domicile. In 1798, the house was bought
by the economist David August Anderson,
and it has remained in the possession of his
family ever since that time. The Andersons
leased part of their palace to the Post Office
during the period of 1867 to 1882.
In spite of having been used for a variety
of purposes, and notwithstanding a number
of renovations, the building has retained its
unique character and style. Notably, the late
Baroque wooden staircase and Rococo doors
have been well preserved.
